This is a ratherimportant sighting simply because it confirms the extreme northernreach of the Sasquatch even into the barren lands. The town ofAkulivik is in the far north well away from the tree line. Mostlikely, the creature was simply following the caribou herds at thistime of year and was caught traversing open country.
In case you have notnoticed, something has happened in the Sasquatch world. Witnessesare now been listened too by the mainstream media. Perhaps the sheerweight of legitimate sightings finally got to them. In this case, wehave surprised witnesses who are wood wise and certainly can describewhat they see accurately. In this case they even got to see thiscreature demonstrate its full locomotion capacity as well. Therewas no mistaking what they actually saw here.
It would be nice to havesomeone experienced go in and complete an investigation, but thatappears unlikely in this case. Yet the story does ring true andmakes good sense. Besides, no one has made anything but grief fromreporting on this phenomena. As it is, these women were extremelylucky to make this observation. There is effectively no populationin this country. They were likely making an annual visit to afavored berry patch. The Sasquatch itself was passing through. Theintersection in time was about ten minutes.
The important informationhere is that they will follow game into the Barrens even and mightplausibly be spotted that way although it will not be with theircooperation.

Women report seeing15-foot-tall creature with long dark hair

Two women in Nunavikhad an unusual encounter while berry picking on Saturday.
Maggie CruikshankQingalik, who is from Akulivik, Que., said her friend saw some kindof creature out in the wilderness.
Qingalik said atfirst, they thought it was another person picking berries. Then theynoticed it was covered in long, dark hair.

She said it waswalking upright along the side of a hill, and was taking longstrides. They said it would also sometimes crawl.
“We weren't surewhat it was first. It is not a human being, it was really tall, andkept coming towards our direction and we could tell it was not ahuman,” she said.
Qingalik said thecreature was 10 feet tall. Pictures posted on Facebook show thealleged footprints are 40 centimetres long.
The women said thecreature didn’t appear vicious, nor did it appear interested inthem.
Understandably forsuch a sighting, the women got scared, hopped on their ATV, andheaded back to the community to warn people about what they saw.
Expert sayssightings not rare in Canada
Loren Coleman, thedirector of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland,Maine, has been studying sasquatch and Bigfoot sightings in NorthAmerica for more than 50 years.
“It sounds like atraditional kind of sighting. I think the only thing I would wonderabout would be the height of 10 feet with a footprint as large as yousaid. But that happens people exaggerate,” he said.
Coleman said Bigfootor sasquatch tend to be six and a half to eight feet tall. He saidthey have been spotted throughout the U.S. and Canada since the1800s.
Since the region hasbecome more populated, Coleman said the sightings have been relegatedto the wilderness.
He said he hopessomeone took measurements and some good photographs of this mostrecent sighting.“If someone could goback there and take some plaster casts, that might be quite helpfulin terms of comparing it to the database of other footprints inCanada,” he said.
In Nunavik or Nunavut,Coleman suggests sasquatch may hole up in caves to protect themselvesfrom the elements.
He added they maysustain themselves on a diet similar to caribou. However, he said theomnivores are opportunistic and could eat a range of food includingsalmon or road kill.
Coleman said he isskeptical when he investigates these sightings. He said he wants tomake sure it is not just a common animal, or people trying to make abuck.
